Unclarity of the wives of John Hamilton
2018-07-26 20:08:09 Christoffer Owe (Admin):The Scots Peerage volumes II and IV has much conflicting information about John Hamilton, including death year, wives, how many children did he have, and who was the mother of which child. It seems unlikely that he was married three times. The Scots Peerage IV even suggest Elizabeth Hamilton was married to John's son John instead of to himself, but that is again conflicting with the information of this son in the Scots Peerage II.
