He received from the Bishop of Moray, on 16 January 1542-43, a feu-charter of the lands of Easter Elloquhy (Elchies). But even previous to this date, on 7 May, 1541, he had a charter of these lands in feu-farm from the bishop. For assisting in the rebellion of Huntly, he received a remission along with other members of the family 9 July 1569. He was the ancestor of the Grants of Easter Elchies.5
