Roland Saint-Clair does not argue why he believes Laurence is a son of James of Brew, but it would make him named after his maternal grandfather. Adam Sinclair of Brew did have a brother Laurence, see "Shetland Documents 1580-1611" no. 535. It is surprising that Laurence is here called neither "of Goat" nor minister.
