During the second world war 1940-45 he worked as a teacher in commercial school. Later he became CFO of an Insurance Company (Fram). From 1973 he worked in the car business with his son Bjørn. His hobbies were bridge, chess and painting. He kept in touch with his American relatives both in writing and by visits.14
