Agnes Sinclair, Countess of Bothwell, was on 26 December 1571 bound over to have no communication with this William, her illegitimate grandson, 'nor nane others of the King's rebels.' She left to him, by will dated 21 March 1572, the whole balance of her estate after the payment of her debts.3
