He succeeded his father in Airth 1513, and is mentioned as heir of the deceased Robert Brus of Erth, knight, his father, in 1513 and 1519. He is probably the Robertus de Brus mentioned as one of the Lords of the Articles, 14 June 1526. He is also mentioned in 1545-46. He resigned a portion of his estate to his eldest son on his marrjage in 1547.14
