He is a witness to several charters before 1223,' also between that and 1247. He confirmed the grant which was made to the Abbey of Arbroath ' by his uncle Malise, to whom he appears to have succeeded. He certainly held Oughtermakan or Oughtermachany, which belonged to his uncle, and from it he granted, about 1247, a chalder of oatmeal for the use of the monks of Inchaflray. He also made grants to the Abbey of Lindores, from lands formerly held by his uncle.3
