When his brother died in 1718 he was a shoe maker apprentice with Ole Bragnes in Christiania (Oslo). With inherited money from his brother and other relatives, he bought and sold lumber, and invested his money in property. His four daughters of his first marriage inherited 2970 riksdaler, and he left 1258 riksdaler for his children of his second marriage.17 |
