Craigengelt is not a known Scottish family name. The Earls of Montrose were of the family of Graham. The name may be a corruption of Craigend or Craigend Castle in the barony of Mugdock, owned by the Earls of Montrose. However, no Earl of Montrose bore the name of James (Jakob), as Genete's father apparently did.
