He owned a boat with Helge Lote which he sold to a merchant in Egersund in 1822 for 450 riksdaler. This could possibly be the later famous "Restaurationen" which was certainly bought in Egersund from Hardanger. "Restaurationen" brought the first Norwegian immigrants to America in 1825.5
